was in FL a couple months ago and did some peacock bass fishin. the pics are of the male and female. caught them about an hour apart. the male had to be one of the best looking cichlas i've seen - pics dont do him justice. both fish were released and they immediately swam back to the nest to guard it. also saw multiple shoals of peacocks while moving around the canals. we were even able to see fry with a BIG female guarding them.
caught a few more that day with the largest being around 5lbs - my wife caught it.
