Fishing anaheim lake, need advice!

I'm going tomorrow for trout and I need advice on gear. I have power bait, hooks, weights etc. Is it okay to use 6-8lb test line with a 2lb leader? What kinda bait should I use? Do I need anything else? Also what's the best sauce attractant?

I used to like chartreuse power bait the best but salmon peach and rainbow are always good. Everyone has their different tactics but I did very well with 2 lb line and the smallest split shot possible, nothing bigger than a bb. Put a tiny treble about 14 inches off the weight and roll the power bait into a worm shape on the hook. Do not cast out very far either, stocked trout are really weird in that they are often within 15 feet of the shore. It depends on the depth obviously but stick as close to shore as possible. I've never used a liquid attractant, if you use light line,a little split shot and not a 1 oz egg sinker and a small enough bait you'll get plenty of bites. Good luck and let us know how it goes!
