In Washington State, the Northern Columbia River near Brewster/Okanogan there is a fish hatchery that breeds a hydrid Salmon/Steelhead (searun rainbow trout) These things are Monsters for fishermen, and fisherchicks. well, the pens broke and they estimate 50,000-100,000 of these huge azz 2-6 pound monsters are trapped between 2 dams. Everyone I know is up there fishing. They are biting like crazy, they aren't picky. Lures, Steelhead Jigs, worms, bait, boats, shore, just use the barbless hooks so you can toss back the first twenty until you find the keepers!! The limit is 2 per person, yesterday some buddies went out and between them, they released 30. OMG they were the fattest fish I've ever seen. They look like rainbow trout, then they look like Silver Salmon, oooh yummy, clear, cold blue water the best eating fish around except for maybe the Coastal Halibut!!!

Warning: It's cold and snowing like a mother, so you have to 4x4 to the edge of the river and roll down the window and as soon as you cast, jump in the truck, crank the heat and everytime you have "Fish On", just reel on it from inside the truck!!!! ha ha ha that is wussy I know, but it's cold!!!!

They like to fight like steelhead, so they're fun to catch. 12 pound test is what I suggest, sometimes they hit really hard-----zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzttttttttttt I love that sound..........:headbang2:headbang2

Not bad at all, cross the Mountains at Steven's Pass if you're in Everett, take hwy 2 all the way to Wenatchee, turn north on 97 or 97A-good road conditions 4 hrs almost on the mark. If you don't have 4 wheel drive, that would suck. The forecast is for more snow. i guess you can just chain up too!!! It's a beautiful trip. It's Okanogan County. Look for Brewster on a WA map, close to Canada.
Go boy Go!

Down here we get cabin fever from lack of fish in my area during the winter.
