fishing exotic fishes. thought i would share.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
its a good idea for conservation but as a fishermen, personally i think its cheating. its like going to a trout farm for big fish, but still very cool

Just imagine how big an arapaima could grow in that lake.

i was there fishing last month. IT ROCKED!!! I CAUGHT A 18kg Arapaima!!!
According to our guide, that was a youg fella. The giants stay in the middle of the lake and are seldom caught nowadays. Those guys are the crafty old bastards.

heck of a good idea but for sure the older fish learn and stay in the middle so they can then eat the smaller fish who are whoooped out from the fight to keep from getting caught lol

^ there are several parks like that here. TBH they get boring after a while. I've not been for a while but I used to take 1 rod for 3 or so people. You pull those big mekong cats out like there's no tomorrow. once you've played with one you get tired so you end up drinking beer (which is good.). By the end of the day it becomes a ball ache fighting them in.
Arapaima are fun to go after but it depends on the time of year. If the other fish in the lake are spawning you can forget it. If not then you just take an extra rod and leave it sat in with live bait or a big frozen fish on while you fight cats and drink beer. I've even had pizza delievered there! I tried a bit of pepperoni for a laugh and hooked a 60KG mekong cat fish! That's how daft it is.

One time, I went to one of these fishing parks called BungSamRam....hoo boy was that fun. Been going back quite often...bt the last time, we were targeting the 80kg< monsters. God damn was it a boring wait.....until the moster hit the hook. hahaha. According to the guide there...most of the "monsters" that take the bait often, are very common. Its the real big guys that you have to particularly aim for.

That's the place i'm talking about. I'm about 1/2 an hour from there.
