Any tips for shore fishing a pond where the pickerel are over fished? In september. Its so packed because its the only lake with something of the pike family for miles.. Lure suggestions and places to cast would help. If this says anything my friends bro caught a 23" Pickerel there. Thanks for any help

My recommendation would be live bait like some large suckers or chubs right outside some weedlines a little before dusk and up to an hour or so after dark. if theres catfish you may have trouble trying to avoid getting them instead. Its hard to say if it will work if its heavily overfished but its worh a try. Good Luck!

Get some money minnows, spinner baits, and all hard baits will work! CP's will hit almost anything!

Hitting the weed lines at dusk is a good idea. why not get a pole with live bait on it, and a pole with a spinner on it? see which one works best for you. don't restrict yourself to one part of the pond either, if you don't have luck try another spot.

I've always found my silver spinnerbaits to be irresistible to pickerel. If it's too weedy, I then go to a rubber lizard bait on a weedless style hook and skim the surface. Dawn and dusk are the best times, dusk being better in my past luck.
