fishing in FL

im going to melbourne, FL next week with my gf for spring break. we're staying at her parents house that backs up to a little river canal thing. any chances ill catch something cool? i haven't been fishing i years. it'll be a nice way to relax after a 12hr drive

If its freshwater you will most likely be catching largemouth bass, gar, sunfish, catfish, bowfin things like that.

Your not going to catch any pbass or cichlids. Melbourne too far north. You'll most likley just catch lmb, sunfish, or bowfin.
