Ok, so I have an export permit for three boxes of fish from Guyana, where Im going this summer to do research on the fish assemblage of the Demerara and Potaro Rivers. So Excited, I leave Saturday! :D So, my question is, one box of fish will be completely occupied by my colleagues Poecilia for his study, the other two are mine, what do you all think I should bring back?? Any notable species which you would like to see imported? Post a picture if possible. They will all be juvenile, and Im going for diversity. I know that there are over 300 reported species above and below the falls on the Potaro. Thanks! :)

Not sure if Guyana ocell pbass r there but get those many some piranhas or catfish

Some pike characins/fw barracudas would be awesome! Can't buy any off you though since I live in Europe.

Yes thank you. Ive looked at this countless times, I was only asking for personal opinions.

And it is school related. Ill be applying next year to college as a molecular bio/genetics major with an emphasis in systems and computational genomics (almost certainly). This research is being done really to see the impact of mining and logging upstream and the heavy metals and particles that become saturated in the river have on the fish assemblage, specifically niche divergence/convergence. It will give extra time in the lab working with mitochondrial DNA and keeping up to date with techniques, and a good paper before Im off to college! Last year I researched rapid species convergence in two species of twin tanagers in the same areas due to increased human-environment interaction, and that was a wonderful time/study. So Im at it again, only with fish!

In my opinion, I'd grab a few Cichla Ocellaris and Cichla Temensis... The Cichla frenzy is still growing, so you'd be able to raise a few and probably make a pretty penny for yourself.
