fishing in NJ after a rain storm

Has anyone fished right after a good rain storm and the river has become swollen and the current is faster then it normally would. I want to go crappie fishing right now but my river is as stated above. anyone?

Based on my experience, the water would be too muddy to fish, and they don't usually bite after rainfall.

depends on what you are fishing for. Great for catfishing, crappie not so much.

Thanks folks, and I am in south jersey by the Cooper river. I went out today and not even bit.
