Hello Chaps,

Fishsiam Ltd Thailand is a new company dedicated to freshwater fishing in Thailand for the largest freshwater fish on the planet. We specialise in fishing for Giant Freshwater Stingray on two of Thailands wildest and unexplored tidal rivers the Ban Pakong and Maeklong Rivers.
We have caught fifty individual specimens with estimated weights of 220kg's.We have also witnessed two Giant freshwater stingray births at each of the rivers with newborn pups of 28-32cm's in width.
All fish caught by the team are released after capture unharmed.
We are currently engaged in a two year research program with Dr.Zeb Hogan and Megafish project concerning Giant Freshwater Stingray.
Our site shows all aspects of the catch and release process with video and photography.

That's a huge ray. What happens to all the huge fish that are caught? Also, is the tail covered to protect everyone or has the stinger been cut off? Anyways, great site.

All Giant freshwater stingray caught by the Fishsiam Ltd are released unharmed after capture. We are engaged in a two year research program concerning the species and ensure the fish's safety throughout the catch and release process.
It is necessary to wrap the barb/s with a cloth to prevent damage or death to the anglers concerned in the capture.
I have heard of other misguided anglers who have cut these barbs from the fish's tails and kept them as some sort trophy. This is a totally unacceptable and barbaric practice which is totally unecessary.
Video appears on our site showing the full catch and release process with the wrapping of the rays poisonous barbs.
