Fishing in the bay area ca question

I would like to start a native tank...im kind of new to fishing just fishing off of peirs...does anyone know a place in the bay area that I can catch sunfish?? I know a place that has some nice looking blue gills but im really interested in the redbreast fish...all help is greatly appreciated

My concerns are the laws in California. You cannot transporting any natives alive without a permit which can be at Fish and Wildlife dept so please speak to them first before you can collecting the natives for aquarium purposes.
