Where can I go to catch fish in the winter(February) in NJ? And what can I catch? I live Morris county if it helps.

50 views and no replies?

This site has people from all over the world...of those 50 people, how many do you think even live near new jersey? How many do you think even fish? And if you're really in that much of a hurry to get an answer, maybe you should try posting in the FISHING section? Or do some research for yourself? As an angler, it gets pretty damn frustrating when other "fishermen" expect you to just hand over all your info to someone you've never even met...

Fishing can be done year round no matter where you live. I fish all year no matter what the conditions. I the winter months I fish on ice or break the ice and fish off docks. The only limits are when the ice isn't thick enough to support me and get to my good spots or the water is flooded and too dangerous to get on. The main thing I would suggest is to downsize your bait and hook in the colder months. I use a crappie king bobber in the smallest size(about the diameter of a quarter). Throw it out with a small jig(#10-!2) with a wax worm/bee moth. Give it a twitch, reel it in a little and wait then repeat. Remember their metabolism is slowed down by the cooler water and they need a slower presentation to strike. They still feed but just not as much and are not in chase mode. I catch more quality fish in the colder months because they are easier to pattern before, during and after spawning. Think small, slight twitching and bait they can smell so they have a chance to investigate. Hope this helps.

Why did you have the nerve to reply like this? :screwy: And on top of this, why are you soliciting quite a rude unnecessary reply? I will not tolerate attitudes like this without due process.

The OP waited two days for someone to reply. Is that what you call in a "hurry"? He merely expressed surprised that nobody replied in his thread though he has an opportunity to bump the thread if he wanted to.

This forum is also a global site consisting 99% of the members including me you have never met. Don't hand us that same excuse when nobody else is forcing you to hand out the info they want.

In short, if you have nothing useful to provide at all in this thread, then keep those commentaries to yourself.

Thanks.
