In the Missouri Code of Sate Regulations - Division 10, Chapter 6 it states:

Fish (game fish) may be taken by the use of pole and
line, trotline, throwline, limb line, bank line,
jug line, gig, bow, crossbow, underwater
spearfishing, snagging, snaring, grabbing or
atlatl, but only as specifically authorized in 3
CSR 10-6.415 through 3 CSR 10-6.550. No
person may attempt to take fish by rock or
hand fishing, with or without hook.

I have been a fisherman all my life and I have NO idea what "Grabbing", "Atlatl", or "Hand Fishing" is

Grabbing, is the same as noodling or tickling and that involves sticking your hand down in their holes and pulling them out! I assume that hand fishing is the same.

An atlatl is an ancient tool used to throw spears....Id give you mad props if you catch a fish using that method!

I must say, your state is very lenient. Usually game fish can only be taken by hook and line where as other methods like gigging, bowfishing, and snagging are restricted to non-game fish also called "rough fish."

Ahh. That was the "General Rule" basically. You are only allowed to bowfish, spearfish and snag on certain bodies of water, on certain times of the year, at certain times of day, with certain limits...etc.

I've read a lot of the Missouri Regulations document and it gets very technical with its rules. Lots of red tape :( but I suppose its better than not being able to obtain game fish with these methods at all.

Thanks!
