Oh how the time has flown. 5 years of tracking catches on MFK. The originals don't post too often anymore but gotta keep the tradition going. 2014 was exceptional, here's to hoping for an even better 2015!!!

2014 Freshwater Fish Total: 214 Bass:108 Bass 5lb+: 9 Biggest: 9.25lb bass/20lb flathead
2014 Saltwater Fish Total: 441 Biggest: 40# Wahoo

Should be getting out to my local lake sometime in the next few days for Brown Trout. No lakes are frozen around here so not looking like it's going to be a big ice fishing season this winter.

first bass of the season was a whopping 12"

Heh, buddy of mine and I went to a bluegill hole that I have just to play around and ego boost your talent of fishing. Usually catch 20-30 bluegill a piece. Not today, the lake is SUPER over grown and we each pulled in 5 (11 total we don't know who got the 6th lol) little bass in the range of 6-10 inches lol.

No luck today, tried different spots for 3.5 hours before I slipped and fell into the icy water (that was fun :)).

Ive only been fishing once so far this year, been getting my Captains license here lately. Ive completed my course and passed the exam so once my paper work comes back yall can call me Capt JD. ;)

Anyhow this was our total haul a couple of weeks ago.

JD whats good for catching your side early march? Headed down for 2.5 weeks and was debating doing some salty fishing.

Off the Kayak, flounder will be around and catch and release grouper and snapper. Some bonita as well. Offshore the AJs and mingo will be biting good. The pompano should be starting to show up in good numbers in the surf as well.

That time of a year I call a transition period. Its not quit spring/summer patterns yet but not really dead of winter either. For near shore stuff that I do, mid to late April is when things really kick off. May being prime time! Im in north Florida on the panhandle in between Destin and Pensacola.
