Gonna go fishing tomorrow at a lake with a dock. What bait and hook size should I use for fish 4 - 8 inches. I know it has catfish and sunfish but other than that not sure. Any info will help.

1. Bring a trout size kastmaster lure in nickel/blue and rainbow trout color. That thing will catch virtually almost anything that chases their food.
2. If there is catfish, bring some cheese that you would buy in blocks at your local grocery store(cut them in cubes, and make sure to keep them cool or else they will come right off the hook). Hotdog also works, and market shrimp works real decent as well. I personally don't deal with livers as they are messy. Don't forget your hooks, I don't use anything under 3/0 for cats, 2/0 may also work. Gama or Owners hooks only in my opinion.
3. Sunfish? Bring some redworms with mosquito hooks up to size 1/0. No panfish can resist any redworms ever. Wax worms can also be very effective.
