So many fish not enough time!!

I currently have 6 fishtanks running and have no space for more tanks....and there are sooo many species of fish I want to obtain but no space for them.

Fish wish list
Rams
Kribinsis
Knight goby
Vieja synspilium
Synodontis catfish
Chana snakehead (the really colourful one)
Tbar cichlids
Rainbows
Some kind of fancy pleco
A regular male JD
Threadfin (tetra kind of fish, cannot remember their name)
Omg the list just goes on and on

Just purchased a ropefish but I don’t think it will survive QT, so that will stay on my list if it does not survive...(not even entirely sure where this gal will live haha)

I know that feeling, I’m held back by weight for now. When I’m not held back by weight I’ll be held back by space and cost. There’s always something holding you back from more tanks.....
You can always rearrange furniture or double stack tanks. Indoor pool? Stock tank? Out door tank?

Yea I’m on a main floor with a basement below me, so weight is also a factor for me.

Haha if I remove any more furniture the bf might leave me....we already don’t have a dining room and eat on the couches haha

I also live in Canada and it’s much too cold during the winters for me to even consider having an outside tank/pond....

I do like your way of thinking though hahaha

You also should factor in any chances of burning yourself out of the hobby by running too many tanks for one to handle...

At my peak i had 5 tanks running ranging from a 10G - 200G but the effort and energy it took to maintain them all started to really burn me out, especially when work loads picked up...

Now i run 3 tanks only, 50G planted tank, 60G Puffer tank and my 200G G.Polyuranadon tank which is much more manageable and enjoyable for me personally...

Naturally, there are always going to be more fish i would like to keep but never got the chance to, so i’m just kind of waiting till the day i get that chance to keep them or find someone i know who does keep said fish so i can at least enjoy them in someone elses tanks... Because at the end of the day, there will always be new fish species being discovered and more fish we want to keep that we may never be able to due to one restriction or another, whether that be living space, tank size or living arrangements with our better halves / family members...

I find that the condensing method works well for when you’re burning out. You condense smaller tanks into one bigger tank thus reducing the work load by only having to do maintenance on one tank instead of two or more I did this with a 75, 55, and a 29 into the 55. All had light stocking so it worked out well. Much happier now. After I move rooms I’m going to condense two 75 gallons into a 4’ x 4’ x 17” hopefully.

If by the threadfin tetra you mean Triportheus spp., those are wonderful large tetras, very rarely seen in the hobby.
I once had 4 Triportheus angulatus that grew to over 4 inches over several years. I have only seen them once available.
Never again although I would certainly get them if I could.
Agile (lighning fast), peaceful, beautiful, unusual, easy to keep. Very much worth keeping. They are very jumpy, perhaps as much as an arowana or hatchetfish, so whatever you do, you need a good cover.

I did a quick search and I was referring to threadfin rainbows (it’s hard to remember all the fish names)

I also searched the foshbyou thought and have never seen them. Very interesting fish!!

Look up aquaticarts, I think I know what fish you’re thinking of.

They have couches that are also fish tanks.
