Recently I had a tank that started leaking. I have moved many large tanks, and basically just need help getting it off the stand onto a set of dollies then i can move it myself. I had "family" lined up to come help move the tank, no one showed up. Set up another time to move the tank, no one showed up. That got me thinking, there needs to be a data base of Fishkeepers Helping to Move Tanks. We could do it here, or wherever (i don't do any social media) But basically just where you live and contact info. I contact someone in my area to help move a tank, and anyone in my area can contact me if they need help. If anyone has any ideas for this and how and where to set it up, please feel free. And I live in New Carlisle Ohio and will gladly help move any size tank in my area and I own a quality set up glass suction cups. You can contact me by PM. Now anyone wanna help get my tank off the stand??

I would come help man but the drive from sw ontario would be a long trek to move a tank. People are kinda dicks sometimes when it comes to lending a hand or just outright keeping there stupid comments to themselves.
Wish I could help

Good ppl are hard to come by, that sucks to realize when family is involved. I have popped into so many strangers houses to help with with aquarium stuff. There are several of my fish friends that I have never so much as had a beer with or even met in person that have offered their help if I need moving. I would say majority of offers are genuine. Love of the hobby i guess, but never know if helping with aquarium stuff turns out you find a really good friend, it's happened to me man. You'll find someone to help, post on he and local classifieds. Good luck, don't give up on humanity haha

I will help....but I got drill this weekend and no RSTs....that's what 1SGT said...so...
Actually, the network idea is good...and to sweeten the deal, offer beer.
Here in SoCal we go to the local HomeDepot and get a couple day laborers...starving college students work also...hence the beer...

Its amazing what a 6 pack of cold ones and a BBQ will do!

Oh I haven't lost faith in humanity yet. And I grabbed a few guys from work, and got the tank moved. This was really more about a network of local fishkeepers who could help by lending a hand as anyone with a big enough tank can never have to many people to help out.

i have a story..

I helped a buddy move his 240 from the truck into his house.. just the two of us.. as soon as we had it off the back of his truck I knew I was in trouble.
Made it across his yard and up the first few steps.. as I took the last step up into the house (backwards) I stepped too far and my leg collapsed. So I was sitting there on folded legs with probably 400lbs in my lap. He put his end down to help and the bottom cracked. Being the nice friend I paid the $300 it took to fix it.

That's crazy dude, that's like a 4 person job without stairs. I don't like the stress of carrying my tanks, let alone others.
