i'm doing a fishless cycle now ..its not done yet .should i ad the plant in there now .or wait till the cycle is done ? just wondering if the tank is not cycle with 4ppm ammonia would that kill all the plants
thanks
this will be my 1st time to have any live plant ..

the plant should be added if it will be part of this tank. the plant in some ways will actually help the cycle. this is true because the plant will act as a media for bacteria to grow on. this bacteria will help in balancing the ammonia in the tank once it has become established. also, live plants use nitrates, a by-product of nitrites which will be given off by the cycle as well. so IMHO i would get plants in from the start.

Most plants actually uptake ammonia. You should be fine putting most plants into water that is as high as 100ppm ammonia.

Ammonia or nitrates?
