Fishless cycling

I am cycling my 55 and I am on day 4 with adding ammonia and the only thing going up is the ammonia. So when do y'all think I will start seeing the nitrate and nitrite start going up??

Depends on temp and some other factors. If you can get some gravel or media from a cycled tank/filter it will speed things up. I'd plan on sever more days before you really see anything though. Don't nuke the tank with ammonia either and make sure you are using pure stuff. ACE hardware sells ammonia without any additives, but most ammonia will have other ingredients. There are some good threads here on fish less cycling. Do a search. I can't remember all the specifics, it has been a year since I last did one. Good luck.

Thanks y'all my water is about 84 deg. and been adding about 5 drops per 10 gallons.
