I have a few new family members, Geophagus steindachneri aka Red humped geos (1 male & 3 female). I'm completely new to earth eaters, but it has been really fun so far, watching them interact with each other and watching them sift threw the sand is very intriguing to me.. They are all about 2 - 2 1/2 inches in length, the male is the most colorful at this point and he is also the only one that isn't camera shy. The tank is a new setup and the decor at this time is temporary. Feel free to fill me in on something you think I should know..

This is the new 40b that I picked up at Petco during the $1 per gal sale.

Very nice, I'm not an Earth Eater guy so I have no advice but wish you much success with them.

Hi FM! Awesome fish and great looking tank! Well done my friend! I love black gravel...I have two of my tanks done in it now and setting up another one.

One question...what type of filter do you have on it? The intake strainer looks like a Magnum 350, but there's no hoses of course. Just curious...you know me and my passion for filters ;)

Gorgeous set up!

Calling me a coo-coo is sort of like the pot calling the kettle black ya' dork!

Seriously FM, that's a gorgeous set up and amazing fish. I can see why you fell in love! Did any of the fry make it?
