This female Tilapia was picked up in Chinatown. She was flopping around on a table, being sold as a food fish. :) Here she is during her brief stint in my 144g Hap tank:

Blackened is my preference. :p

It's just a hybrid fish farm "Tilapia." Probably a mix of a few different Oreochromis species. These usually show pretty bland, pale coloration, especially the females (which this one was). Occasionally you will see males with some nice turquoise on the body and red on the fins. Not on this particular individual though.

Grilling ANYTHING with garlic is a sure way to make it taste great. This one was blackened though.

another market fish.... chinatown rocks.... looking good... that fish is damn lucky....

If you consider getting blackened and devoured by humans "damn lucky" then, yes I guess she was. :p
