After weighing all my options and posting a few threads around MFK (which didn't get many replies unfortunately :(), I think that either the 48" 2 or 4 bulb fixture will do fine with my 120g long tank. If I attached either of those fixtures directly to my canopy, or had the fixture hang about an inch below the canopy, do you think it would be a fire hazard and dangerous? I havent heard much about the lights being extremely hot but I imagine its not exactly cold either.

ventilate your canopy with several fans. that should cut down on heat. a feature i like about their fixtures is the ballast not being placed directly into the housing. make sure the ballast is in a well ventilated area though. thats what heats up the most. i'd suggest the 4 bulb fixture for a 120. you will get more even lighting front to back.

How many fans do you think would suffice? And do you have any online sites you know of where I can order ones? Also, if I attach the Ballast to the side of the canopy (on the outside), would that be open enough?
