what would you say are a absolute must medications or things needed when you have expensive fish in your fish room as far as taking possible prevention and treatments any info would be appreciated

I wouldn't medicate as a preventive and will only use medication when absolutely necessary.

I have on hand the following: metro, kanaplex, neoplex, sulfaplex, prazi, paraguard, erythromycin and furan-2.

LOL...oh yes, I have salt!!! Aquarium salt, epsom salt and marine salt. I just didn't consider it a med...haha

I think aquarium salt is only good for counteracting nitrite poisoning. And also removing hard water stains. Atleast that's what I use it for.

To some extent it also depends on the type of fish you keep and water you keep them in. Some meds are useful for some fish and deadly to others, some meds work in certain types of water and are useless and even toxic in oters. If you told use what you're keeping and the parameters of the water you're keeping them it would be helpful. I always keep methylene blue, that's a good start build from there depending on the above.
