Fishy suggestions

Hi all, 1st post on here so be gentle lol
I've got a fish less 4x2x2 and in need of ideas. It's half scaped so far, going for a heavily planted, rooty look.
1st thought was a mix of polypterus, a red wolf fish and some mid/upper level fish
2nd was polypterus, spotted climbing perch and some others
3rd was some channa bleheri, maybe some polypterus
I just need some help deciding and ideas for the "other" fish. Could I keep a small group of bleheri or would the fight with each other?
Any help/ideas appreciated

I don't wanna go for a single specimen tank. I may do a species tank but would prefer a mix

A 4X2 will be a great tank for the smaller upper jaw polys! Have you considered keeping it African? A nice group of leopard Ctenopoma, and some African butterfly for the top?

Thats what im doing in mine 90 gallon, senegal, leopard bush fish, abk and congos for movement. Post the pic of tank? Would like to see it, just scaped mine today as well.lol

That's not a bad idea Ocellatus. I've had various polys before and loved them and would like them again. I was thinking 5 cteno maybe, is that gonna be a too many of could I get some more in?
Thomeski, what's a abk and when you say congos do you mean Congo tetras?
Here's a pic of my tank. Waiting for another rooty bit of wood and when that comes I can start planting up and get the wood in its final place. I'll put some more pics up when I make some more progress.

Thanks. Very much a work in progress. Really annoying how the one of the pieces of backing has changed colour.
Just been to my lfs for some inspiration and on the way I told myself I wasn't going to buy any fish. Well.....they just happened to have a tank of baby red wolves for £30 each and after speaking to one of the guys there decided to buy one as they were only a one off and would normally be more.
So I think the plan is polys and some cteno's, maybe something else but we'll see how the wolf behaves 1st!
