Hi I’d like some opinions on putting a Eheim 2217-37 canister on a 125 as a primary for freshwater-planted tank. . I worry about the water turnover since the 2217 is rated at 260 per hour witch doesn’t meet the 4 time per hour rule. Any thoughts or experience for a good filter for a tank this size are appreciated.

I just got a Eheim 2026 for my 75gal tank and was wondering the same thing. So far it is maintaining the tank pretty well.

Are you going full planted setup? If you are going to be heavily planted, then the filter may not be needed. 4x turnover is not necessary in a planted tank, nor is it the rule for the majority of aquariums. Each aquatic system has different needs.
