so i was on cl and found a wet dry with pump bio balls plumbing overflows and everything for 75 bucks, i ran out and bought it cuz i couldnt pass it up!, only to realize on the way home that my dumb @$$ stand for my 125 has 3 10 inch doors, the sump is almost 15:confused:. anybody got any suggestions on how to make it work, i was thinking of supporting the stand with some 2x4s removing one of the doors and panels putting the sump in and then reinstall the doors,it would be permanently stuck in there at that point but whatever i guess, plz help:screwy:

i would build another addon stand growout beside your tank if theres room and put your wetdry in there, you can cover it up and make diy doors if wanted to.. it'd look cool :P

I built a sump a couple years ago that I placed under a 220G SW tank. There was no way the sump was going to fit inside the stand w/o me not only removing the doors but also removing the brace between the center doors. After I got that removed and started sliding the sump into place, I realized that I was also going to have to cut part of a rear brace. I had drained the tank as low as possible but it still contained about a good amount of water and 200lbs of live rock. The stand started shifting around becuase of the weight of the tank and the supports being missing. It by far was the dumbest thing I have ever done and was lucky to escape with the tank intact. I dont recommend doing anything like that with the tank in place. If you need to raise the stand and place it on 2x4s you really need to move the tank out of the way.

+1 on that. I removed some boards on a stand to slide in a sump and almost killed myself and broke my tank. Will NEVER attempt this again. Drain that puppy and do it safely!

ok i guess il drain and move, i hate that stupid stand, dont ever buy the stands with the three small doors!!!! it was a freebie so why am i complaining. thanks for stating the obvious answer guys
