Sorry if i posted on the wrong forum.I have a 50 gallon fish tank that a grass carp that i caught ended up cracking one of the walls of so its just s itting there in my garage. I was wondering if there was any way i could resurrect the tank. If i had to replace the pane or i could silicone it or find someone selling a discount tank.
Its an all glass tank.
50 Gallons
Was originally used to hold a snake then i used it as a fish tank for about a year.I live in the copperfield area of houston Texas. in case anyone can refer me to some glass places Pictures will be put in the next post

You are looking at a lot of work to fix that with not 100% results because that's quite the damaged pane. Only way I see is trying to replace the pane and as I said, it might not work successfully.

You'll pay more than the tanks worth bringing it to a glass shop. They'll just replace the whole pane. For such a small tank I'd just forget it and buy a new one. You can score 55 gallons used for a mere 50$ on craigslist, MFK market place, etc.

sorry haven't been on. 2 options

1. replace the entire pane and reseal the whole tank
2. get a pice of glass as tall and wide as the crack and seal that on the inside of the tank.

I had a video somewhere on here that shows how to do number 2. My 125g cracked a 6' panel down the center vertically and I added in another pice of glass on the inside of the tank to fix it. you simply put a bead of silicone down the crack then place the glass piece on it being carfeul to squeeze out as much air as possible then seal the edges of the glass piece.

edit: found it!

my 125 has been up for 7 months no issues since the repair.

pics are in this post

you can see the attached panel in the back.

edit: also if you can stack the photos in number 2 vertically rather than horizontally, the thread is annoyign to read because of it.
