I have a tank that i bought used but the trim is scratched. It is the wood looking trim. I am staining the stand son so is there anyway to match it to the stand or is there anyway to just fix it and then match the stand to the trim?

What size tank is it? Glasscages.com sell the trimwork for pretty cheap if you just wanna replace it.

110 gallon, 48"x18"x31", the thing is that it will be too hard to replace both trims on a 224 pound tank, any other options, any painting options?

I always spray paint those horrid faux-wood trims black. Scuff it a bit with a high number sandpaper and use a spray paint made for plastic.

(While you're at it paint the back of the tank too!)

I am going to paint the back of the tank, going to paint it black. The problem is that the wood i am going to stain it and not paint it, so it is going to come out a "wood" color.

The trim on your tank is probably plastic. So you can't stain it or really do anything to it besides replace it or paint it.

I guess you could get some furring strips (thin strips of wood) and glue them over the plastic, or build a hood to cover it.
