I recently got a new iguana that came with a 40g breeder (too small), well the tank has a 1" diameter hole cut in the bottom which I guess was for cleaning purposes but the iggy is no longer in such a small tank so now I have a spare tank that I want to use for fish. Can I fix this by getting a small square of glass and sealing it aroung the hole? I really want to use this as a growout for some catfish I'm planning on getting.

The advice I have seen here many times is to get a bulkhead then cap the bulkhead. It is more secure, and gives you the option to use it in the future if you so desire
Is it a 40 breeder aquarium or a 40 breeder terrarium? They might have different glass thickness and I have heard a horror story or two about a terrarium filled with water and failing.
