I was doing an aboveground 8 by 4 by 20'' pond. It was going to be aboveground, but the wooden box that was going to have the liner in it has wood rot in 2 small areas. Appox 4'' by 8''. the rot only goes halfway through.
Could I just nail a board over the rot on the inside, and then put a liner over it.
Should I use a wood sealer first?

thanks.

Since your are going to have a liner inside, can you remove and replace any rot? Seems better than a patch that is made of wood and can also rot.

if i did, it would destroy the entire thing.
thats why i asked about the sealer. :D

I've used epoxy resin to repair some rot at the bottom of an old column. That was years ago and I am trying to figure out where I got it. Most likely at Menards...
