fixing scratches on plexi

what can i use if anything to fix scrathes on plexi tank. and what process do i use (by hand, drill, buffer etc).

if you buff it must be slow speed or you can melt the surface of the plastic

most pros use a series of sandpaper and then a slow speed polisher
