good catches. wish you would have released the bass seeing as how you're in florida and you have so many other good sources of fish nearby that taste better, but to each their own

nice snakehead as well

actually i released quite a few on my recent fishing trip. decided to keep these since the family havent had bass in a long time...I know there's snook, snappers, etc. but i dont salt water fish very often for these better tasting fish.

believe it or not i do not eat fish...maybe fried, but dont like the taste very much...the family does ahah...

they ate the snakehead too...i was told very sweet and from what i saw the meat was very firm and white...still didnt try any though haha:)

yeah i've heard snakehead tastes good, kinda has to - predatory fish that eats other fish that taste good haha

i'm not one of those 100% catch and release people, i just put the bass back when i can, but gotta keep the family happy :P what'd you catch em on?

shiners...i was actually going after tilapia with bread after hours with no luck for bass or snakehead...just when i was ready to pack it up i hook a shiner for one last cast and BAM...4.5lb-er hit...landed it and hooked another shiner and cast...a smaller bass (didnt weigh)...gave bread one more chance at hooking a tilapia and end up hooking a large arse carp...got it to shore and the freakin line snapped...sucks..

i'm not an artificial bait guy so live is usually my preference...

still fun, sucks the carp broke off, if it makes you feel anybody they supposedly taste absolutely awful anyways. haha.

i think when i was a kid we kept a bass once, just cuz i was always curious how they tasted - my dad wanted to throw it back but hell, i was like 9, i remember it being okay, but not any better than panfish - thrown every one back since

it's so crazy you can catch tilapia and cichlids and stuff like that in florida, if i were you i'd go find some canal that people have released pacu in to, from what i've heard they're absolutely delicious and thats a LOT of meat haha

haha...yeah i heard the same...again not a fish eater lol...i would had thrown it back after many many pics lol...i was using 15lb test and it still snapped the line...it was a beast...first time hooking one so you are right, it was fun haha

i caught midas and mayan cichlids alot too...beautiful fish in the water...not so nice looking stressed out on a line in the grass lol...

i saw the post on the pacu from miami...i saw one this weekend...i know where that pacu was kept in the guy's avatar...might hit that area up soon...i know pbass is still abundant there as well...

i may have to take a vacation to florida to fish these canals for cichlids pbass and pacu, i think that'd be the coolest thing in the world haha. pbass in particular, cuz when i was a kid they weren't really a native problem and i was always watching shows of people fishing in the amazon and i always thought they were crazy because of the pirannhas and what not in the water lol
