Flagtail fin tear

Hi I got this 4 inch Flagtail yesterday and he has this fin tear on the lower part of his tail fin. Will this recover overtime? His colors are so vibrant I picked him up regardless. Also how come some Flagtail's have different patterns on their tail fins like my guy. I mostly see straight parallel bar patterns and the tail is red. This guy has got a bit yellow shade. Pictures are attached below.

The tail fin should grow back. Looks like a injury to the gill plate as well.

Yes he was a in a tank full of other flagtails so the aggression would have caused it. Hope the gill plate thing will recover too and nothing to worry about.
