WOKE UP THIS MORNING AND SAT IN FRONT OF MY 180g TANK, EVERYTHING SEEMED NORMAL UNTIL I NOTICED THAT MY FLAGTAIL ACTED ODDLY. HE WOULD BE UPRIGHT ONE SECOND AND THEN LEAN ON ITS SIDE THE NEXT SECOND ALMOST FLAT ON ITS SIDE THEN TURN UPRIGHT AGAIN WITHOUT MOVING ON ITS CURRENT PLACE. HE SEEMS TO BE OUT OF BALANCE BUT DOESN'T LOOK SICK. HE WOULD DO THIS LIKE EVERY MINUTE OR SO. I DON'T SEE ANY VISIBLE INJURIES. PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME ON THIS.

my flag tail does that all the time. i don't think anything is wrong with it. it kinda reminds me of when clown loaches lie on their side.

also, when my flag tail does that it seems as if its trying to attack its reflection..

however, i would check ur water and make sure the flag tail is getting enough veggies. the worst case scenario is that there is trapped gas in the swim bladder. most of the time this will pass. the most common method for treatment is to feed peas.

Sorry to say this but mine acted the same way the day he died. He was really stressed out from the other 2 I had in the tank.
Anything else in the tank stress him out? Mine would get chased everytime he would attempt to eat. No physical damage noticed on him.

no, his been there in the tank for 6 months now with the same tankmates. he even seems to be a bully chasing on my red hooks. though one eartheater seems to be acting kinda territorial.

hey, what do u know! i keep mine with red hooks too;) they all get along great.

that's why i'm mystified what could be causing his weird actions. red hooks are peaceful as we all know. and plus there is no sign of injury.

no, nothing like that bro. but one of my filters is broken right now.

Flagtails are funny little things. Mine does all sort of rubbing and dancing. Sometimes it looks like ich but it never is.

Keep us updated.

ok bro i will. still looking at him as we speak and he seems really fine. i might just be paranoid. i don't know.
