I have a flagtail which has been injured as my aro keeps trying to eat him when hungry, can a flagtail be placed in my sump? Sump siZe is 6x2x18 inches only half has chambers the other half is juat open space , my water level is about 14 inches, any danger of it jumping out?

Good plan I use my sump for breeding and fish needing to heal up. Put it in there and let it heal up.

agree with didysis, this is one of my planted sumps

Idk, Depends on the sump I guess... I did this once and sadly the fish got sucked up I still cant figure out how he got past the egg crate.

I guess as long as the fish is not small and able to swim against the pump force I would say yes. Maybe cover your intake to be safe.

Flagtail can jump quite well. Putting in the sump is OK but need to have cover to prevent jumping.

You can either put him in your sump with enough space, or you can just seperate your tank with egg rate. Also add some melaflex to help with the healing processes
