last weak I bought my first Flagtail prochilodus and it cleaned all the algea from my tank overnight but I cant get it to eat anything else not even spirolina or vegetables , so my question is does anyone have any ideas on what I could yous to get it eating I don't want it to starve and the lfs wasn't any help

seaweed? Use a clip and clip it to the side of the tank. Don't think they go after moving targets particularly well. Think there are a couple of fei feng feeding threads that might help too.

I had the same problem........overnight algae cleaned then:...I tried black worms, bloodworms, flake (spirulina), algae wafers, marine algae sheets (w/ clips and suction cups), shrimp pellets, krill, marlet shrimp chopped up..........and everything else imaginable.........my once beautiful flagtail slowly shrivled up and died of starvation!!!!:irked:

Try peeling the skin off of some peas and throw those in the tank.

just tried the peas its sucking on them but not getting anything off of them I might try crushing them first at least this is a good start! thank you

Good luck bro.........it was heartbreaking seeing mine shrivel up and croak!!:)

that really sucks to hear about your fish I heard they can be hard to feed but this is ridiculous :(

id starve it for a few days.i did this to mine and it would eat anything.

flake
bloodworm
cichlid pellets
etc etc

ive got the same problem with my silver dat at the moment.it hasnt eaten for a week.i bought it on saturday.

mine doesnt eat anythig either. but it seems like my algae supply is growing fast enough for it to stay alive off of. but then again i only had miens for about a week.

Your using cooked peas right? If they are too hard boil or nuke them till they get mushier. Good luck
