hI GUYS

i have a flagtail who was pestered by silver dollers and it has lost 50% of his red bottem fins. I have put him in a tank by him self for at least two months but his fins do not have regrown otherwise he is heathy.

Is there hope that his fins will grow back to full glory?

if its nipped down to the bone it may not grow back if hes been in a hospital tank that long with no improvement its not likely it will heal, did you add salt and raise the temp in the tank

not nipped to the bone, still has quite abit of red. Not sure about how to use salt or the purposes of it.

sorry, I tried to post this a little while ago but MFK crapped out on me...

I know flag tails are slow growers but I would think that you would of seen some kind of improvement by now.

I would recommend raising the temp to 85-86*F and add 1 table spoon of non-iodized salt per 5 gallons. Also do weekly water changes of 50% and only replace the salt for the amount of water removed because salt does not evaporate.

The salt aids in the healing and helps fight infections.
