Flagtails in Pond in socal for summers?

Where The Wild Things Are
I use to get really small 2" plecos and throw them in my koi pond for the summer. They'd get like 10"+ from May to September.

Has anyone ever tried with Failtails?

Since Flagtails are algae eaters too. would you expect a huge growth spurt? I might do it this summer.

it works but keep in mind that flagtails have been known to have a taste for slimecoat and may decide to work you koi over
 
uuuhm.. hahaha.. yes, guess you can expect a similar growth..
