I bought this guy from a local breeder around 2 months ago. He had got this flaimtail in a trade. He is around 3" and still has no color a slight hint of yellowish color around the bottom of his body.
I was wondering around what size do flaimtails normally start coloring. He's in a tank with several bigger fish

The Ngara and most Stuartgranti types are generally slower to color out, grow, breed than other Aulonocara. The fact that there is other larger fish in the tank that are already displaying color will slow the process down even more. Our Ngara usually start showing color between 2.5-3" but not in full color in most cases until they reach about 3.5-4".
