I wouldn't believe it if I didn't see it for myself... I just tossed in some prime reef flakes for my Oscar to nibble on.. and my oldest fire eel... Just gobbled down some that had floated to the bottom :screwy: he's turning into a fishy garbage disposal. Anyone else have their eels eat odd food you'de never expect them to eat?

damn you guys are lucky.. i have a tt but he will only except frozen bloodworms.. he wont touch anything else, and believe me i tried everything

Wow, you are really lucky, I wish my eel would eat prepared food!

BTW, don't you just love ON Prime Reef flakes? I wish they made that formula in pellets too.

I feed prime reef to all of my tanks, my cardinal tetras pretty much strictly get this and they are big and gorgeous. My juvi oscar gets it, along w/ pellets, frozen bloodworms, and anything else I find interesting. My angels love it as do my guppies and mollies as a treat. My bichirs also enjoy it, but have waay to big a stomachs to get it more then once a week. I got hooked on it when I had SW and my clowns started breeding fed strickly that and frozen brine shrimp.

as finicky as my fire eels are, eating nightcrawlers chopped up, and frozen bloodworms only. I was very surprized but shouldn't have i guess to see the one eating it. He's gotten the other two to eat it as well now.

funny.. my african cichlids on the other hand aren't real crazy about it. they pick at it abit. But don't mow down.

And I'm not surprized crisper, I've had peacock eels in the past that ate shrimp pellets. as of yet my fires or TT won't touch them, but I haven't really bother trying. I think they are just more discriminating pallat wise. So a HQ pellet would be far more acceptable for them to try then one that is "Ok". My local lfs sells earthworm pellets I've considered buying to try, though also from what I understand G tiles are true eels unlike peacocks, fires, and TTs. I had a SW snowflake that also took very quick to pellets.
