Interesting, im curious what would you relate it to when touching it? leather? any special skin considerations when keeping it?

They feel like very smooth extremely soft leather or suede.

The only special requiremnt I have noticed is they need more humidity when shedding and a good soak does em good every few days. Just like some geckos if kept too dry the shedding skin can form rings on their toes and cut off circulation. A good soak and spilling their water bowl once a day fixes that.

Supposedly they are sensitive to intense UV such as high watt Mercury Vapor, or more intense lamps. Source of info was from a reputable breeder.

I think the source of reference was from somebody who never owned them.. I have a few and I use mercury vapor bulbs with no ill effects... most of what you read about them is bs regurged from people who have never owned them....

agreed thats exactly what I though the first time I saw one...

second thing I thought was, I gotta have some

third thing I though was wtf close to a grand a piece I must be crazy

I think, you don't know who I'm talking about. The breeder has experience with them.

Obviously there are variables, and not every MV in every application will show a certain result.

Name the breeder.and his experience with them.. only a very small handful of breeders have bred these in the US.

Post the link?

always like to hear the facts...and experiences of others...

I'm not in the US. There is no link, it was a conversation.

Good luck wading through all the online regurgitation. Also, check out www.uvguide.co.uk if you are interested in UV information. There are plenty of dangerous bulbs on the market, and commonly available bulbs that if used incorectly have dangerous side effects.
