Flameback? If not what is it?

I forgot what he was sold to me as but it was not a "Flameback" as I believe it to be. I could be wrong, I'd like to know what he is. The LFS employee told me how he got in trouble for selling me that fish (months later). So if Flamebacks are expensive that would further back my skepticism.

Oh wow sweet so I got a good deal. Think he was the alpha male was only one out of the tank with colors like that. He golds his own pretty good with my Oscars thanks the identification help guys.

Wow, surprised he is doing that well with oscars. From what I have read and been told most Lake Victorian cichlids don't do that well unless kept with other Victorians. Glad it is working out for you, but just keep an eye out for problems to be safe.

Yea Id definitely move them from the oscars. Eventually they will go for him. Besides, you want your ph higher for the kyoga than you do for the oscars..
