has anyone kept or does anyone have pictures of brachyplatystoma sp. flash zebra. Is this the same cat as juruense?

Flash Zebras are a subspecies or variant that shows more intense yellow coloration, but usually loses this value after importation stress.. I believe they are also collected in a different Region. Regular Juruenses are much more bland, and their bands are not as definitive.. I have also noticed the Flash variant has more pattern within it's tail.. Here is a picture comparing the 2 of them. The one in the back is the flash, but it's really hard to tell in this picture.. The one in the foreground was alot more bland, with less coloration, and had no spotting in the tail.

honestly, most of the imported 'flash' juruense have no difference at all from the normal juruense.

but when freshly netted in Peru, the 'flash' variant seems to have more vivid yellow colored stripes.

They are also sold as 2 seperate fish, one being more expensive than the other, and only obtainable at larger sizes.. Which would leave me to believe they are netted in different locales.

Such as the picture above, a trained eye can easily distinguish which juruense is the nicer, more sought after fish, being the flash zebra.

I will ask Miguel and see what he knows about the differences in the 2 fish.. One is sold as 'Alianza' and the other is sold as 'Black Zebra Nanay'.. The Nanay being the flash.

eather way they are both beautiful fish
