I have a native tank with a lot of rock and two large pices of driftwood.

Stock is 11 sunfish
1 lmb
1 white cat
8 crawdads

There are thousands of small colum shaped clear creatures with fingers or branches attached to the glass and intake tubes. My fish are doing a lot
of rubbing shaking and such. I believe some is normal for sunfish but this seems a little excessive.

I know I need to cut down on feeding for the hydra if thats what it is, and i have added the appropriate amount of salt. Yet these little attachments are still there.

One other issue is my water is staying around 6.2 to 6.4 very acidic. my tap is testing at 7.2 before treatment any ideas on how to raise the ph.
I do weekly water changes and use 7.0 neutralizer. everything else is testing 0.

thanks

i had these growing on the glass of my aquarium one day, went to the pet store and they told me it was hydra, they probably attached themselves to the new plants i just got and now where taking over my tank. I bought a scrubber and rubbed down all the glass and changed the water and never got them back since. You're fish rubbing, i'm not sure if that's because of the hydra, mine didn't do that.
