The land of the pine
So, i might be moving soon. If i do, my dad said i can have an indoor pond in the basement if we do. I was wondering if a redtail, flathead, goonch combination could work. or just 2 of them. i know their all pretty similar( they all eat anything smaller than them). but that would be such a cool pond.

Since redtails like warm water and flat heads & goonch like colder water. It probably not a good combo.

flatheads can tolerate the same water temps as redtails. i dont know much about goonch though. i guess you right . im gunna have one of the 3

I've also heard that goonch are very aggressive so you might also have issues there.

why not keep a pair of RTC TSN both which swim at the bottom and for top ge a few gars (not alligator ones cause they are the fierce ) a few large bass would look nice aswell

Other than the temp differences: The red tail will out grow all of them at first. The flathead will be very shy and maybe be difficult to get off of live food and the goonch will probably get eaten by the red tail since they grow at a snails pace. I would just adopt a big fish like a redtail or tsn or hybrid that no one wants any more. They are often free. I would feel bad buying a baby when there are plenty of big ones that need better homes. Those 3 types make the best pets imo...My hybrid is my favorite out of all mine but my tsn is a close second.

I would skip thegoonch and get a nice tropical pond with rtc, aros and pbass
