Flatheads

Does anyone around here currently keep a Flathead Catfish. (Pylodictis olivaris) I have had one about a year now, and was curious if anyone else kept one.

They are really cool. I would love to have one in a pond. Where did you get it? Never see them for sale

Ive learned to catch 4-6 a year that are 6-10 inches long. Not easy. These guys are fish processing units!

I have also been trying to get ahold of one for some time,, good luck in finding one the smallest I have caught have been well over 20in and the largest over 50lbs

Ive caught mine in a local reservoir in Tennessee here. Been able to catch several if you know the right areas. not easy at all. But what a cool fish!

Here are some pictures of Freakles, now 12 inches long and begging for food and eating from my hand! Never thought this was possible.

My little guy. Had him since hatching out an egg mass after a noodling trip a few years ago.
