Roommte has a dog and wants to set off some flea bombs. I have never had to do this around fish tanks. Is it safe, can't it get in the water and hurt them?

Do I have to seal the tanks in plastic or something. Any help would be apprciated.

Best way to deal with fleas is to poison their food supply. That's why products that make the body fluids of mammals toxic to them are so successful (Revolution, etc.). Fleas have multiple life stages, most of which are shielded from insecticides. Flea bombs are a primitive, low efficacy solution and aren't worth the risk to your fish.

Gentrol is the only thing you can "spray" that's non-toxic to fish. Not sure about invertebrates though.

Agreed. No need to nuke the house and the fish when there are more efficient ways of addressing the root cause anyway.
