Hi guys. I recently setup a tank with a sump beneath it. It is hard plumbed. The overflow is making a lot of noise and judging by what i have read on here it may be due to horizontal runs on my piping and the 90s I used. Can i used pool vacuum hose on a drain? I bought flexible pvc but it seems tob rigid to make the turns i need. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help!

how bout some vacuum hose can be used but are hard to make a tight secure seal. you can try longer loops if you can't do tight turns.

If you place a valve in the drain line and balance the flow it will quiet down that drain. Thing is Be Sure to open it some once you find the balance point so you have more drain than supply volume.

Cant that end bad though??

If your drains can handle 2000GPH and you supply 1200GPH you will have noise. Solution restrict drains to 1500GPH and the system quiets up.

As long as you drain more than you supply by a safe margin , no it will not end badly.

Are you sure the noise is coming from the hose/pipe/tube itself? Does it sound like a "flushing"sound? Are you using a standpipe for the overflow? If not Google/search "durso standpipe."

Use Spa Flex its what I used to plumb my return and intake lines with.

I am using the glass holes kit. There isnt room for a durso pipe. :(
