Flies Breeding:

I still owe you all pictures of me frogs, untill then another question.
I'm Breeding Drosophila melanogaster and Drosophila hydei fruit flies. I have cultures with plastic lathe and others with Excelsior .In my very limited expeirience it seems to me that they breed better with the plastic. What I'm asking is for your own expeirience and opinions.Any other pointers on the breeding of fruit flies are more than welcome.

I just read an article that said glass containers are better than plastic. They didn't say why though. Is it for cleaning and re-use or do the flies breed better?
