Hello ,
I have some issues about feeding on my fish. Well i have two tanks one which a tiger oscar (albino) and his tankmate a jaguar cichlid. Oscar is the dominant in the tank (bigger) and he feeds with floating food Hikari pellets and some sticks somedays with bloodwarms and shrimps. Since he is the dominant one he eats the most of the food but if the food goes down he does not go for it (and jaguar eats it especially bloodwarms). So i am thinking to buy the sinking pellets for him. Once i tried to feed him with sinking food (from jbl i am not sure tho) and he wasnt eating he keeps going at the top of the tank and waiting to eat..When i go near the tank and open the lid he tries to jump when i am going to put some food to him. The same issue i have with my channa striata. When i am going to feed this +(*^&% :) fish he tries to jump and eat the food (my hand) . Thats a problem because my channa has teeth and it can seriously damage my hand..What about the second one? What else i can feed this guy ? Massivore delite? but he ll eat it?

Massivore is a good sinking pellet.... using pvc to feed bottom dwellers with aggressive eating fish in the tank always worked for me

Just because it's food doesn't mean they'll eat it. If they won't, you just give them time to get hungry and that will usually do it.

As far as trying to jump to the food, I have yet to find a way to stop it aside from tricking them. Dump the food in at a different spot then they expect. Won't work long for smart fish though.

On the plus side, eventually you won't have any fingers left for them to bite or you'll be able to feed them as fast as I do.

Especially my channa isn’t smelling the food but he try to find it and id the food (krill most of times) is in his vision he rapidly goes for it. I learn this guy to follow my finger which is bad to find the food
