I plan on purchasing a 240 long tank from glasscages. I have hread alot of flak about them and not having a floating bottom. so i was wondering about biulding a frame for it to make it a floating to maybe avoid the breaking problems that others are having. i just would like to know if this is a good idea or to just not worry about it and use styrofoam under it and call it a day.what do all you MFKers think?

I wouldn't worry about it. I would get/build a stand that is perfectly level and just go with it. The foam is needed in order for glass cages to honor the warranty.

ill go with the styrofoam. Thanks for the input Pharaoh i already planned on buliding a stand bc im on a budget and just like to do it. the main frame of the stand will be 3doubled 2x4's and top covered in 3/4 ply and braced every 16" under the top were the tank will sit. and 4x4 upright posts at the corners and center.there will be more bracing underneath as soon as i fgure how i want to setup access to the sump.
